Master


Responsibilities: As a master of a MONTCO liftboat you will be held to a higher standard. Masters will be responsible for effectively managing the vessels crews. This includes but is not limited to the direction of all vessel operations, maintenance and safety. A master will also be expected to safely navigate and operate the vessel for the duration of all seagoing routes as well as maintaining compliance with all regulatory bodies. Master's will also be expected to complete daily logs for management and client use. A master will also be expected to educate and enforce all MONTCO policies stated within the Safety Management System manual.

Qualifications: All master applicants are to hold a valid USCG issued master's license of 200 gross tons or larger. A valid driver's license as well as a valid USCG issued Merchant Mariners Document (Z-Card) is also required. Applicants who hold a 1600/500 gross tons near coastal or 3000 ITC tonnage license with a STCW 95 endorsment will be given extra consideration. Prior experience working in a master's capacity on a liftboat is recommended but not required.

Mate


Responsibilities: As a mate working on one of MONTCO's liftboats your primary duty will be to assist the master. This may include but is not limited to managing the crew, general navigation and watch keeping while underway, and overseeing the daily operations directed by the master. As a mate you will be expected to operate the vessel's cranes. The vessel's mate will also be expected to assist in general maintenance of critical components. This may include but is not limited to, changing oil, replacing various filters, greasing of various components etc...

Qualifications: All mate applicants are to hold a valid USCG issued mate's license of 100 gross tons or larger. A valid driver's license as well as a valid USCG issued Merchant Mariners Document (Z-Card) is also required. Applicants who hold a 1600/500 gross tons near coastal or 3000 ITC tonnage license with a STCW 95 endorsment will be given extra consideration. Prior experience working in a mate's capacity on a liftboat is recommended but not required.

Able Bodied Seaman


Responsibilities: As an abled bodied seaman on one of MONTCO's liftboats you will be expected to follow the orders given by the master or mate. Standing orders include but are not limited to, general maintenance, house keeping, watch keeping, assist in loading and unloading cargo, assist in maintaining the engine room and while jacked up servicing the on charter client.

Qualifications: Able Bodied Seamen must possess a valid USCG issued Merchant Mariners Document (Z-Card) endorsed as Able Seaman rating. STCW 95 is prefered but is not required. Also prefered but not required is a valid driver's license.

Ordinary Seaman


Responsibilities: As an ordinary seaman on one of MONTCO's liftboats you will be expected to follow the orders given by the master or mate. Standing orders include but are not limited to, general maintenance, house keeping, watch keeping, assist in loading and unloading cargo, assist in maintaining the engine room and while jacked up servicing the on charter client.

Qualifications: All OS applicants are encouraged to posses a valid MMD (Z-Card) and valid driver's license.

Cook


Responsibilities: As a cook on one of MONTCO's liftboats you will be expected to maintain a level of professionalism in the galley. This means you must maintain a level of personal hygiene, a neat and sanitary kitchen, and positive interactions with personnel onboard. Responsibilities of being cook include but are not limted to preperation of balanced meals and desserts, construction of a comprehensive grocery order list as needed as well as stores.

Qualifications: All applicants interested in cooking for MONTCO are encouraged to posses a valid MMD (Z-Card) and valid driver's license.

Christie Industries

Established in 1988, this Houma-based shipyard has 300ft of bulk-headed waterfront property on the Houma Navigation Channel and acts as the primary facility for the maintenance and repair of Montco Offshore's entire liftboat fleet. Christie Industries has most amenities of a full-service shipyard including: 750cfm air compressor with dockside manifold; welding, sandblasting, & painting equipment; and a 5-man crew on call 24/7 with 3 service trucks. Christie Industries complies with all OSHA safety & environmental regulations with safety equipment including eyewash station, acid-wash showers, as well as an oil containment boom with response boat.
